:: weekend recap ::

Monday, February 2, 2015

This past Friday my sister and I left early for Apparel Mart in Atlanta. The January show is a pretty big show and we usually order Spring immediates, Summer Lilly Pulitzer, and some lines even have Fall ready to order. It's crazy to think ahead for so many seasons, but a lot of fun planning out the year! Here's a few sneak peeks of what we ordered...

First stop, Karlie. I've carried Karlie at Sugar since day one.
As always, more bright fun prints on classic, best selling styles. These tanks are always a winner for hot Summer days. Throw on with a pair of shorts + sandals and go!

Obsessed with these subtle tie-dye distressed jeans. Envision with a flowy ivory top and funky heels for a night out or even one of the cute tanks above. Yes, you can mix it all!

Then we skipped ahead to Fall 2015 at Hatley.
Hatley is just a great, high-quality all-American line. Classic pieces with whimsical, novelty nods each season. The flannel button ups are going to be HUGE and they had some awesome "casual fur vests" to layer over them. Really excited about these! Think "ski-resort-chic" for Fall/Winter 15'

After a long day of buying, we took a break at 4pm to listen to a Trend Report by Carson Kressley!
So fun. He is such a trip, as if we already didn't know that. He went over all the key trends for 2015

then we even got to meet him and say hi!

One trend he noted was "Varsity Chic". Think well, varsity sweaters such as this paired with crisp white shorts, a pair of chucks for a casual day out or dress it up a bit with nude wedges. Lots of options and preppy chic continues to be huge!

The little pom shorts were AH-DORABLE. I don't see this prego mama fitting in them anytime soon, but I ordered a ton for everyone else :) Too cute with just a simple white tank and fun sandals.

We then headed over to Gretchen Scott and I'm so excited about bringing this preppy chic line to Sugar this Summer. It's just fabulous, lightweight cotton dresses + tunics in THE cutest prints!

This was one of Carson Kressley's favorites and we made sure to order it for all of your beach trips, Summer BBQs, and more. Adorable. I'm going to live in these.

and I was obsessed with the flamingo prints. Yep, those are coming too!

At around 6:30 we watched the AmericasMart Apparel Fashion Show they have every time and then we headed to Alma Cocina for dinner, with a quick pit stop next door at the Ritz for "mocktails" (ok, just for me anyways) while we waited on reservations...

The next morning it was up and at em' early to order Lilly Pulitzer SUMMER.
Oh. em. gee. Summer deliveries are always my favorite, but the prints this year are just going to be out of this world. This is one of my favs and yes, I ordered this whole emsem.
I mean seriously. How gorg is this print???

Oh and good thing they're bringing back a one piece style too. Ummm, that's what I'll be in post baby! These LARGE milkshakes from Chick-fil-A on the way home aren't helping either. HA
What baby craves, baby gets. Gotta have a little Sugar treat to end our Sugar trip!

Yesterday we cleaned more, packed more, purged more, and moved more out into every covered trailer and SUV we could find. I am SO over all this. We are trying to not only get everything ready to move into the new house, but also we have a couple wanting to come look at our current house, which we are selling. Never thought all this would happen at once, but it is and we are taking it as a huge blessing. A lot of work, but YES a blessing! We've been working our freakin tails off, my husband every single night...and hopefully all the hard work will pay off sooner rather than later.

We got some really good news today from our builder and think the move will be VERY SOON! Eeeeek. Can. not. wait. Excited about the week ahead. Have a good one y'all and oh, here's a great quote I saw on Insta last night. After a weekend of wild & crazy fashion, it's pretty inspiring.

NEVER TRY TO FIT IN or be scared to be weird/crazy/different. Do your own thing. Don't just do something just "because everyone else is doing it". Life is so much more FUN that way!
Have a great week. XOXO
